My father served on the CV-16 in the Pacific theatre during WWII as a Gunner and Administration soldier after turning 18 years old in 1943. Earlier in 1942 he served as a Merchant Marine in the Atlantic theatre carrying cargo from New York to England, he passed away 3 years ago.
