Comment: Was aboard the Lex when we were the last ship to be overhauled in the Brooklyn Navy Yard before it closed. We were in the yards from Sept 64 to Feb 65 and then went to Gitmo for a 3 month shakedown cruise. Also, we were designated as CVS-16 (Support) at that time. Later this was changed to CVT-16 (Training).
