When checking aboard the Lexington in 1967, I spent my first 90 days in the ships Boatswain Div. per the Commanders policy.
While on watch duties in the bridge, I actually got to be on the helm steering the Lady Lexington from Pensacola to Corpus Christi in the Gulf. After serving in this division I was reassigned to the V4 division. My duties were to maintain all aspects of the ships fuel systems.
