Fred Lavorin, now known as Brother Anthony (Tony) Lavorin, is a Franciscan Friar with the Province of Saint Barbara in California. Tony was a Marine assigned to the USS Lexington (CV-2). He was on board when the ship had to turn around when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. He was wounded in Guam in 1944 and left the Marines soon after. His last rank was Platoon Sergeant in the 9th Marine Regt 3d MD.
