I boarded the Lexington in San Diego and went to Bremerton for the angle deck! What a sight! WOW Made one West Pac Cruise. The lex had changed homeport to Pensacola Florida. I signed off and got the USS Bennigton CVS-20 that was moored at the Lex’s bow. I think my chest stuck out further when I would hear her name more than the Bennington.
