I sailed with the Lex during the start of Vietnam. We were in the Formosa Straits for 45 days before entering the Port of Yokuska, Japan. We became know as a can-do carrier. When I was on the carrier, I was 18 years old. I discharged from North Island in June of 1959.
I completed a BS degree in teaching from the University of Wisconsin and later finished my Master Degree in Administration. I retired from schools as a Principal, in New Mexico. My wife and I are now living in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
