Got on board out of boot, was scared to death! Really enjoyed and learned alot from the flight ops, gitmo, and went to the yards in Bayonne N.J., and back on her. Came across some pictures, that’s why I’m on this site! It was awesome working in the engineroom in the yards, they had the sea chest opened up in the bottom of the ship, winter in New Jersey engineroom temp. around freezing. Doing valve maintenance in a foul weather jacket! Could climb out the bottom of the ship and look at her from under the keel! Awesome pictures and memories!
