Service Dates: I am not sure, probably mid October thru November of `62 as part of the Marine Detachment which was required by the Lexington`s attack status given due to its Cuban Missile Crisis mission.
Rank/Duty Assigned: I was a Marine assigned to the Lexington`s Marine detachment. I was a Pfc (e-2) and was a brig turnkey or guard assigned to the ship`s brig normally. My battle station was just below the flight deck in an anti aircraft gun tub as a rifleman to fire at sharks if they were to approach a downed pilot.
