Service Dates: Boarded Lexington in Yokosuka, Japan in 1959 after finishing Nuclear Weapons school. Completed the WestPac cruise and after returning to U.S. was transferred to Shangri-la.

Rank/Duty Assigned: Initially was in SG (Seaman Guard) Division with rank of NWSN. Soon made NW3 and was assigned to W Division (Special Weapons/Nuclear); specifically in the 'Nukie' room with NW3 Reeder and Chief Matlick.

Good ship and good division. Best mate was Jim Reeder , NW3 at the time. Both transferred to the Shangri-La when Lex went to drydock in Bremerton about 12/59. (Tom died of massive heart attack 6/27/2005).
