The best “SEA DUTY” in the whole United States Navy.

Of many things and people remembered, the one that I will always cherish and remember is the LDO/CWO table in the wardroom mess. This table was located right behind the XO/Department Heads table and before the rest of the offices, of course, with the JO table being in the back of the room. Woe to anyone, regardless of rank and not a LDO/CWO, who sat at this table without being invited by the head of the table who usually was the ship’s Engineering Officer (LDO). Of course, all female officers, regardless of rank, were always welcome at our table and for the most part “ALL” did sit at “OUR” table. Thanks for the memories, as Bob Hope would say.
