Service Dates: I served on the USS Lexington CV-2 from Dec. 1940 and served until May 8, 1942 when was sunk during the battle of the Coral Sea.

Rank/Duty Assigned: S/1C Deck Hand on Lexington

I served in the US Navy from Oct 8, 1940 and retired with 20 years service Aug. 10, 1960 as Chief CSC. After retiring from US Navy I worked as Food Service Director for Va Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, Va. where I retired after 28 years service. I still live in Lynchburg, Va. I will be 87 years old in Dec. and still do all of my own yard work as well as helping my children with whatever tasks they need help with. I have tried to carry on my training that I learned while in the service by staying fit and busy throughout my life. God Bless America.
