George Glumac was a Naval Aviator, a dive bomber pilot in VB-19, stationed on the USS Lexington. He flew both the SBD and the SB2C planes. He was awarded both the Distinguished Flying Cross (for meritorious action in Philippine Sea Fleet Engagement on 25 October 1944) and the Navy Air Medal (for shooting down an enemy plane). Sadly, George passed away in January of this year, at 100 years old. If you need any additional information on him, please contact me, I’m his granddaughter.
